Welcome Friends and Family

The Studio is Open!

I’m excited to announce that my studio is officially open! My art workspace has taken on many forms over the years from school desk to living room couch to dining table and has finally landed in the most beautiful room in our home. My easel is set up next to the 150 year old stain glass window and my vintage drafting table. I can’t think of a better place to create. After realizing how much time I could spend up in my studio, we brought a comfy chair up there so Evan can hang out with me while I paint. I can’t wait to see the pieces I’ll create in this inspiring space. Thank you for coming along with me on my artistic journey. I’m so glad you’re here.

Artwork Spotlight

“Artists are Shape Makers and Symbol Creators”

-Tony Couch

For those of you who are familiar with my work, the three paintings below are going to look a little different. This past week I had the express pleasure of working with a watercolor artist whose approach is vastly different from my own. This artist challenged me to paint more mindfully, but less carefully. Go in with a plan, but get that paint on the paper–Wham, Blam. This helps to create a fresher, brighter, and more interesting painting. I was having a tough time with that, but by the end, I think I like the pieces I was able to create!

Looking Ahead

Collections, Commissions and Christmas Cards!

As the year comes racing to a close, I like to slow down and walk around my neighborhood basking in the beauty of evening light. I’ve started a collection of sketches “Fall in Five Points” that I can’t wait to share. Follow me on Facebook or Instagram for more frequent updates.

Can you believe there are 73 days left till Christmas? I have one opening left for a commission. Reach out to me if you’d like me to play Santa Claus and send an original painting down the chimney!

This year, I’m sending Christmas cards made from my very own art! If you’d like to be on my Christmas card list, use the contact form on the about page of my website to send me your address.

Thank you for coming along with me on my artistic journey. I’m so glad you’re here. Till next time!-CMC
