A Collection: Landscape Minis

There’s something so fun about working small. I love using a sketching style combined with a tiny work surface. It makes for very pleasing pieces!

All Pieces are 3 X 3 watercolor on paper

Watercolor Sketches

Gardenia After the Rain

6X8 Watercolor on Paper

I saw this gardenia after a summer rainstorm. The raindrops glistened in the afternoon sun peaking through the clouds. This is my favorite piece of 2024! NFS.

Magnolia in Bloom

6X8 Watercolor on Paper

These delicate petals were a joy to capture. I loved using soft grays and subtle hues to create the shadows and highlights of the bloom. The contrast between the silky petals and the glossy leaves created an exciting piece. This piece was inspired by the photography skills of a friend! SOLD.

The Blue Hibiscus

6 X 8 Watercolor on Paper

Trying a new style can be a little intimidating, but really rewarding. I allowed myself to be a little looser and focused more on what brush strokes I wanted to paint and colors I wanted to see, rather than making an entirely lifelike artwork. I’m glad that I tried this! NFS.

A Collection: Sunshine in Winter

While the winter days were short and the nights long and cold, I stole some sunshine with these citrus fruits. I spent the evenings slicing the fruit in different ways and arranging the pieces in interesting places. After I painted the watercolors, I enjoyed a refreshing snack!

Peace in the Water

20 X 20 Oil on Canvas

I saw this photo, and it immediately grabbed my attention. I loved the serenity of the woman that was juxtaposed to the spark of red against the cool water. After thinking about it incessantly for days, I just knew I had to paint it.
